We Believe:
- In one, true and living God, eternally existing and self-revealed to us as three persons: the Father, creator of all things; the
Son, Jesus Christ, God incarnate; and the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide.
- In the divinity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His death for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to God, and that
He will come again in power and glory.
- That the Bible is ãGodâs Word written,ä inspired and authoritative, true and trustworthy, coherent, sufficient for salvation,
living and powerful as Godâs standard for belief and behaviour.
- That Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. From guilt,
shame, power and path of sin, Jesus Christ is the only Saviour. Repentant faith in him is the only way of salvation.
Come and see.
We invite you to come and grow spiritually with us÷whether you are adult or child, single or married÷by sharing the Good
News of Jesus Christ with us in worship, friendship, learning, giving, and reaching out into our community.
Although our worship is mainly contemporary in style, we value our Anglican tradition and history.
We celebrate Holy Communion most Sundays.
We welcome and appreciate children in our services.
Our History The first worship service was held on Easter Sunday 1979 in the gymnasium of the Airdrie Middle School. In
June 1982 construction of the present church on Albert Street began. A group of dedicated and enthusiastic workers donated
their talents and time, and laboured long and hard in love. Various gifts and donations were given, some by believers who
wished to remain anonymous.
The building has a wooden foundation on which are spray-painted scripture verses and Christian symbols. This is to remind us
of our Christian roots and that our foundation is our Lord Jesus Christ. The upper floor window and door casings are also
painted with symbols of our Christian faith. It can truly be said that St. Francis of Assisi Church is built on scripture and prayer.
The first service in the new building was the celebration of St. Francis Day on October 1st, 1983.
