Renovations continue
The Diocesan Office move to the church building of the former parish of St. Edmund, King & Martyr in the community of Bowness has experienced some delays. The staff continues to work from home for the next little while. The new address is: 8336 - 34 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB, T3B 1R2. Email addresses and phone numbers will remain the same. We are grateful to this Diocese for your patience and prayers. Once the dust has settled, we will be planning an open house for folks to come see our new office home. |

Missional Minute
What are the first things that come to mind when you hear “Church Communication?” Communication is the imparting or exchanging of information or news. This is done by verbal, non-verbal, and visual means of sending and receiving information. This is something each of us does every day, knowingly or unknowingly. We send messages, all the time, individually and corporately (as a small group, as a parish, or as a diocese) by our words and our actions, about what we believe and the importance to us. Sometimes the message is not what we think it is. What messages are we actually sending or what others are receiving from us? “The single biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” George Bernard Shaw Missional communication is about how we impart the message of the Gospel to others. It is not about how we tell parishioners about the events at church. Who is Jesus for you and what message do you wish to share? Improve your missional communications each day (individually and corporately):
If you are interested in improving the ways you parish is communicating, consider a Communications Workshop delivered by a Missional Coach. Contact us for more information at missionalcoaches@calgary.anglican.ca. |

Our guest speaker this year was Brad Jersak, an author and teacher from Abbotsford, BC, as well as Principal for St. Stephen's University in New Brunswick. Brad spoke on Broken Images of Christ and Humanity; a more Christlike image of God; a more Christlike image of Humanity; and the importance of experiencing God. Clergy had the opportunity to hear Brad's thoughtful teaching, as well as time to connect with colleagues and enjoy God's creation in this gorgeous locale. photo credit: The Rev. Pastoral Care Day update
A big thank you to the nearly 40 people who attended the pastoral care day workshop on May 3 at St. Barnabas. It was truly an event that had many helping hands – from food contributions, to music, to hosts, to our guest speakers. I believe we had a day that was meaningful and informative, and connected some of the pastoral community together. We had people from across our diocese who came and shared. Due to your generous free will offering, $350 was sent to our Companion Diocese of the Windward Islands in support of their pastoral care ministry. For any information or connection to resources, please do reach out to me, Tracey by clicking here. Thank you again for a wonderful time together on our very first pastoral care day. |

St. Luke, Calgary and St. Paul Dinka Last Service CelebrationMay 25, 2025 St. Luke's Calgary and St. Paul Dinka congregations have been sharing the same building for almost 20 years, and occasionally sharing special services. The Dinka have now moved to a new location, so we celebrated their last service at St. Luke's by joining in their worship service, followed by a dinner. The service was in both Dinka and English, with members of both parishes participating in the readings, prayers, and tributes. It has been a joy to get to know one another. We pray God's richest blessings on Rev. Lino and his congregation as the start this new chapter in their journey. |
