Diocesan Announcements

Ordination: Priesthood: The Rev. Deacons Carmen Maier, Rob Cowie, Jerrod McCormack, Matthew Perreault and Gerald Skeet will be ordained to the Order of Priests on Saturday, June 22, at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer at 11:00 am.  Color is Red.

Please pray that God will bless them as they begin these new ministries, and consider attending this service to support them.

Retirements:

The month of June will see three retirements:  On June 3, The Right Rev. Sidney Black, Suffragan Bishop, retired.  On June 23, The Rev. Canon Arthur Sheffield of St. James, Calgary, will hold his last service and officially retires at the end of August.  On June 30, The Rev. Janni Belgum, who ministers to the Grace Anglican United Church (St. Luke) at Blairmore, will be retiring.

We thank God for the ministry of these three gifted and beloved leaders in their respective areas, and we pray that their future endeavours will be blessed.  Please keep them all in your prayers as they enter a new season.

Annual Returns

We are requesting that each parish ensure that their Financial Information and the General & Statistical Form has been submitted to the Diocesan Office.  The National Church requires the statistical information, and the T-3010s are due June 30, so we require your Financial information.

The Annual Return Forms can be found on our website under Resources/Documents/Annual Return Forms.  We would appreciate having your Missional Footprint forms in to our office at your earliest convenience, as well as any missing documents that have not yet been submitted.

Thank you so much to those of you who have sent your Annual Returns in already.

Education for Ministry

Education for Ministry

2019/2020 Registration is now open

Education for Miinistry is a program of theological education for lay people. There are four years of study, but participants commit for one year at a time, meeting in small groups with a trained mentor. The program combines academic study with components to help participants take what they learn about Scripture, church history, theology and ethics into their own lives and hearts, supporting them to live out a vibrant baptismal ministry in the church and in the world.
