Missional Minute
In October of 2017, at the 77th Synod of the Diocese of Calgary, Synod passed a resolution directing Diocesan Council to "...focus its energy on creating a mission plan that will rejuvenate the church, its life and mission; bring people into the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ; and enable them to live out Christ's love in the world." A Mission Action Plan Committee was struck, and much work was put into the creation of a Plan to orient the focus of the Diocese of Calgary on Mission. The Plan was presented to Synod in 2020, and the Five Vital Signs of the Body of Christ were presented as part of the MAP's "June is Mission Month" five week teaching sessions in 2021. And now, the wordsmithing is complete, and we have shared that Plan with our clergy, wardens and committee members. If you would like a copy of this Plan, we would be happy to send you the PDF. Click here to ask for one. Now, more than ever, Mission is sorely needed in our communities. We need to share the love of God both inside and beyond our churches. |
