Missional Minute
Our Diocesan Vision Statement: To be a church that is inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit; a church that reflects the virtue and grace of Jesus; a church reaching out to proclaim God's love to a broken world. "...We declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ." (1 John 1:3) We are created to be in community. The second part of the Great Commandment calls for us to "love our neighbours as ourselves." It's more than sharing coffee after the church service -- it's sharing our lives with one another, supporting each other, praying for one another. Like the Apostles, we are called to gather in small groups to study, pray, eat and serve together. True fellowship allows us to form authentic and vulnerable relationships with each other, and by allowing others to join, we profess the love of God for all people. Are you taking the time and making the effort to be in fellowship? Is there a small group that you could join, or create, or offer an invitation to someone to join? May your eyes be opened this week to where you can be truly in fellowship with those around you. |
